Thomas Connolly of Pearl River, NY, formerly of Stony Point, NY, passed away peacefully on October 30, 2025. He was 84 years old.
Tom was born on January 26, 1941, in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, to Joseph and Eva (Mawdsley) Connolly. He attended St. Cecilia High School in Brooklyn and later earned an associate degree from Queensborough College.
He proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1962 to 1964, attaining the rank of Private First Class. Following his military service, Tom worked as a maintenance supervisor for Orange and Rockland Utilities, where he dedicated many years before retiring in 2001.
A devoted husband, father, and friend, Tom was deeply involved in his children's lives. He coached their hockey, soccer, and Little League baseball teams and was active in the Cub Scouts. He will be remembered for his great sense of humor, warm smile, and the love he shared with his family and friends. He was also a member of the Haverstraw Elks Lodge and enjoyed spending time with his fellow members and friends there.
Tom was an avid New York Jets fan and a longtime season ticket holder who loved tailgating with his family and friends. He was also known for his legendary grilling skills-making smash burgers long before they became popular and always taking care to measure each patty just right.
Together with his wife, Alice, Tom traveled the world, enjoying river cruises throughout Europe, visits to Italy, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, and many of the Rocky Mountaineer Train trip, and trips through the U.S. National Parks. They also cherished time spent along the Erie Canal on his boat, their winters as snowbirds in Naples, Florida, and summers at the Jersey Shore. The two shared a love of music and often attended concerts by Billy Joel, Bruce Springsteen, and many others.
Tom will be remembered for his kindness, humor, and deep love for his family. His legacy of laughter, loyalty, and love will continue to live on in all who knew him.
He is survived by his loving wife, Alice Connolly; his children, Joanne and her daughter, Kaitlin; Dan and his wife, Bridget, and their children, Maeve, Ryan, and Deirdre; Christopher and his wife, M.E., and their children, Susannah, Patrick, and Gavin. He also leaves behind his 'bonus' daughters, Catherine Innes and Meaghan Hurley, her children, James and Sean.
Visiting will be held at Wyman-Fisher Funeral Home Inc., 100 Franklin Ave. Pearl River, NY, on Sunday, November 2, 2025, from 3:00-7:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM, Monday, November 3, 2025, at St Aedan R.C. Church, 23 Reld Drive, Pearl River, NY.
