Thomas Paul Conway

Thomas Paul Conway, age 67 of Hiawassee, Georgia passed away July 31, 2022 at his home from an extended illness. Thomas was born October 30, 1954 in Dubuque, Iowa to Marion (Parrish) and the late Charles Conway. He lived a life devoted to God, his family, and country. He'd retired to our area 2 years ago from civilian work at NAS JAX, FL. and was a member of the IBEW union. He served in the US Navy for 22 years with an honorable discharge.Thomas was a quiet and hardworking man. He loved living in Hiawassee surrounded by the beautiful mountains, a choice made from years of mountain vacations. Thomas cherished spending time with his family; he and his wife would take long, after dinner walks, and he loved spending time with his boys and grandchildren. He collected guns and liked to tinker in his garage, he also enjoyed time hunting and fishing. He was a child of the King, served his country, loved and provided for his family; he will be deeply missed.  He is preceded in death by his father, Charles Conway. He is survived in death by his wife, Dorcas (Hall) Conway; mother, Marion (Parrish) Conway; sister, Ramona Gae Philabaum; sons, Mark Conway, Nick Conway, Jeremy Conway; grandchildren, Katie Fenzel, Zach Conway, William Conway, Luke Conway, Abbi Conway, Graci Conway, Cooper Conway, Kensington Conway, Autumn Conway; Great-Grandchildren, Andy Fenzel, Alex Fenzel, Addy Fenzel; nieces and nephew, April, Anne, and Ben. A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 6, 2022 at 3:00 pm at New Life Church in Hayesville, NC with Rev. Greg Carroll officiating.
