It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Thomas Alonzo Crawford, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather, who left this world on June 21, 2025, at the age of 87. Born on May 20, 1938, Thomas lived a life full of dedication, love, and service to others.
Thomas was a hard worker, having devoted many years of his career to Golden Gate Funeral Home. He retired from Delta Airlines, and later became the proud owner of a state inspections business. His remarkable work ethic and commitment to excellence were evident in every endeavor he pursued. Thomas was known for his wisdom and was a source of encouragement to all who crossed his path. His unique ability to convey life lessons through parables made him not just a teacher to others, but a mentor and friend.
In addition to his professional accomplishments, Thomas's spirit was alive with energy and compassion. He served as the President of the Church Usher Board, where he demonstrated his dedication to his faith and community. His legacy of love and guidance will forever resonate in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him.
Thomas was a respected member of the Prince Hall Masonic Lodge, where he contributed to the values of brotherhood and service. His influence extended far beyond his immediate family as he made a lasting impact on everyone he met.
He leaves behind a loving family who will cherish his memory and the lessons he imparted throughout their lives. His presence will be sorely missed, but the love he shared will continue to live on in the generations he touched.
A viewing for Thomas will be held on June 27, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM at Golden Gate Funeral Home-Dallas, located at 4155 S R. L. Thornton Fwy, Dallas, TX 75224. A funeral service will be conducted the following day, June 28, 2025, at 3:00 PM, also at Golden Gate Funeral Home-
