Thomas Franklin Crider, 81, of Belmont, passed away Monday, June 27, 2016 at Caromont Regional Medical Center.Thomas was born in Hart County, GA. on July 4, 1934 to the late Coy and Marzie Vaughn Crider. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Larry Crider, his sisters, Mandy Surratt, Dot Hammonds, and Georgie Graham.
Thomas retired from Freightliner after 20+ years and was a member of Bethlehem Church.
He loved to go bowling and watching Cowboy movies. He also loved gardening. He enjoyed family activities and spending time at the beach.
Survivors include his loving wife of 61 years, Sue Crider; Children, Frankie Crider, Elaine Crider, and Lynne Gadd; Sisters, Martha Fowler and Billie Fisher; Grandchildren, Heather Slaten, Jason Davis, April Rowlette and husband Walt, Brian Crider, Tyler Gadd and wife Ashley, Case Gadd and wife Julia; Great-Grandchildren, Haley Gantt, Christian Slaten, Morgan Slaten, Jacob Slaten, Austin Davis, Emily Rowlette, Sidney Rowlette, Tyler Crider, Zane Crider, Kennedy Chappell, Waylon Gadd, and Grey Gadd.
A funeral service to celebrate Thomas’ life will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at the South Campus of Bethlehem Church, 3100 Bethlehem Church Street, Gastonia, NC 28056, with Revs. Dale Lawing and Steve Black officiating.
The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service.
Interment will follow at Gaston Memorial Park.
