Thomas K. Dadej ObituaryThomas K. "Tom" Dadej, a beloved husband, devoted father and
grandfather, passed away unexpectedly on August 12, 2024, in
Barrington, IL, at the age of 58. Tom was born in Chicago, IL, on May 26,
1966, to his parents Dennis F. Dadej and Theresa F. Bukowski. He grew
up to be a remarkable individual known for his kindness, generosity,
and unique sense of humor.
He proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1984 to 1987 in active duty,
followed by a stint in the Reserve from 1987 to 1990. His military
service was a significant part of his life, and he often shared his
experiences with fellow veterans, experiencing a strong sense of
camaraderie and support.
Following his military service, Tom embarked on a successful career in
Finance. As a Senior Deduction Analyst at Old World Industries, he was
respected for his sharp intellect, professionalism, and problem-solving
abilities.
Tom's personal life was filled with love for his son and grandchildren.
He was an avid reader who could always be found with a new book. His
other interests included painting, fishing, and his love for music that
was evident in his vast collection of genres and records. His many
interests provided him with great comfort and were a source of
enjoyable discussions with friends and family.
Tom leaves behind his loving wife, Regina Dadej nee Longdon; devoted
son, Christopher Dadej (Ashley); and cherished grandchildren, Bradley,
Nicholas, and Natalie. He is also survived by siblings Dennis (Josephine)
Dadej, Jacklyn (Ron) Hamilton, Casey (Olivia) Szwarc, Peter (Tammy)
Staadt, Patricia (Robert) Savage, and Bobby (Tracy) Staadt. Tom was
preceded in death by his parents and his grandparents, Frank and
Estelle Dadej, Mitchell and Stephanie Bukowski, as well as his aunts
Harriet Bukowski and Lori Ciancio.
A funeral service will be held at St. Edward Catholic Church, 4350 West
Sunnyside Ave., Chicago, IL 60630, on August 22, 2024. Visitation will be
from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m.
A luncheon will be held in the church hall immediately after Mass.
Tom's legacy will live on through the lives he touched and the
memories cherished by all who knew him. His remarkable spirit and the
values he embodied will forever remain in the hearts of his loved ones.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the
Gift of Hope Organ & Tissue Donor Network, 425 Spring Lake Drive,
Itasca, IL 60143.
