It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Thomas Philip Damico, (aka Tom, Deek, Papa and St. Tommy), on Oct. 16, 2024, at the age of 64, after a brief illness.
A strong advocate of his Catholic faith, Tom often expressed how blessed we all are to have God's love and shared the importance of thanking Our Father God for all he has given us. Amidst our sorrow, we find peace that he has now been called home.
Tom was a "larger-than-life" man who lived life to the fullest. He fostered deep friendships, creating bonds that stood the test of time: always ready to lend a helping hand, share a drink, and create a new story.
He found joy in the simple pleasures of life – spending time with his family and friends while casting a rod, swinging a club and watching his favorite sports teams, the Detroit Lions, Tigers and Notre Dame football – though admittedly he enjoyed any team that won him a few bets along the way.
He was an incredible man who loved his wife Karen, his entire family, and friends very dearly. He was an amazing mentor and godfather to his grandson, teaching him valuable life lessons such as driving the boat, mowing the yard, being a leader and importantly how to find and place his faith in God.
Tom was preceded in death by his grandparents: Tony and Josephine; his father, Phil; mother, Pat; and sister, Debbie.
His spirit lives on in his wife, Karen; daughter, Jennifer (Tom); grandson, Kent; brothers: Johnny (Tami), Mike and Steve and countless other family and friends touched by his kindness and zest for life. We are all heartbroken, shocked and saddened by this sudden loss, but we are comforted by God's Holy Word and will rejoice again with him in heaven.
As we say goodbye to this remarkable man, we will hold a funeral service at 11 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 11, at St. Ignatius of Loyola Catholic Church, 7810 Cypresswood Drive, Spring, Texas 77379.
We will join together again to celebrate the life he lived from 5-8 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 11, at Windrose Golf Club, 6235 Pinelakes Blvd., Spring, Texas 77379, where he spent most of his Wednesday nights each summer.
Let us share stories, laughter and perhaps even a few fishing tales as we honor the incredible legacy he leaves behind. In his honor, wear your favorite fishing, golf or sports shirt.
