Thomas Allen Daniel

A Mass of Christian Burial for Thomas Allen Daniel, Jr., 80, of Nacogdoches, will be held at 1:00pm on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father George Elliott officiating. Interment will follow at Moral Cemetery. Mr. Daniel passed away on September 21, 2025, in Longview. He was born on October 22, 1944, in Orange to the late Thomas Allen Daniel Sr. and Mary Nell Puddy Daniel.

Allen grew up in Orange, Texas. He graduated from West Stark High School where he played football. While cruising North Street in Nacogdoches, Allen met the love of his life, Martha Rodrigues. The two were married on November 14, 1969, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. They have been blessed to have 55 wonderful years together.

Allen drove 18 wheelers hauling bulls or plywood. He was also a master electrician and helped wire up several businesses including Nacogdoches Walmart. He retired as a dispatcher at Machinery Transport in Henderson, Texas. Allen enjoyed anything outdoors, often hunting, fishing, or watching drag racing. He was the epitome of the family man. He loved family get togethers and spending time with the grandchildren and family. Allen cherished every opportunity to sit and visit, reliving memories and telling stories about the past that brought laughter. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus. Allen was a great man of God and family man. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Allen is survived by his loving wife, Martha Daniel; daughter, Kimberly Scroggins and Chris Mauldin; son, Craig Daniel and wife, Brittany; grandchildren, Taryn Scroggins, Ty Daniel, and Caul Daniel; and brother, Steve Daniel and wife, Linda.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Allen and Mary Nell (Puddy) Daniel; and his parents in law, Richard and Mary Rodrigues.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jeff Rodrigues, John Paul Rodrigues, Gordon Channel, Nick Smith, Tommy Cordova, Keith Cordova, and Terry Harris.
