Thomas Daniels

Tom Daniels, 69, of Barrington, NH died suddenly Tuesday evening. Tom was born in Nashua, NH but lived in multiple states and the country of Haiti before retiring to his home on Mendums Pond. He was the fiercely proud father of 2 sons, Zack and Luke, and also loved their beautiful wives Brooke and Mary. But his greatest joy was being "Papa" to his three beautiful granddaughters Marcella, Claire and Hannah. Tom had 42 wonderful years with his beloved wife Marie who was his heart and soul. He had an MBA in Finance and worked as a financial executive throughout his career. But the work he truly loved was training his wonderful goldens, first TeeTonka and more recently Takoda to be therapy dogs. He took them to colleges (they were a weekly presence at the UNH Paws and Relax program), nursing homes and schools. Tom was an athlete - he ran and worked out every day, swam the length of Mendums in the summer, and ice skated it in the winter. He was a steward of the lake and an involved volunteer in the Lakes Lay Monitoring program and the Loon Preservation Committee. He leaves Marie, his sons, their wives, granddaughters, a sister Deb, a brother Jim, a multitude of cousins, dear friends, and his beloved constant companion, Takoda. His passing will be a devastating loss to the pet therapy network, the Mendums community, and especially his family.
Friends and family may call from 10:00- 11:00 am on Saturday, May 25, 2024, at Purdy Memorial Chapel, 2 Concord Road Rt. 4, Lee, NH 03861. With a memorial service beginning at 11:00 am.
