Schantz Funeral Home, P.C. - EmmausThomas “Tom” Rodgers Davis, 83, of Emmaus, passed away on February 25, 2026.
Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Tom was the son of the late Thomas and Eleanor (Kuntz) Davis and was a lifelong Pittsburgh sports fan. Tom was a CPA and worked for Merck, Westinghouse, and Lehigh Portland Cement before starting his own firm in Allentown. He happily retired in 2017. He graduated from Lafayette College in 1964, which gave him a love of history, many lasting friendships with Sigma Chi brothers, and 66 years of contempt for Lehigh. He received his MBA from Penn State. He loved supporting his daughters, grandsons, and neighbors’ kids at their sporting events, driving near and far to cheer from the stands. Until recently, Tom loved traveling to National Parks, giving tours of Gettysburg National Battlefield and was active in the Lehigh Valley Torch Club and the Berks Photographic Society, where his photos won awards. His sense of humor was legendary, exemplified in the annual family Christmas letter, his attire (“Curmudgeon and proud of it”), and witty exchanges with family, friends, and people he had just met. Many have reached out to say that Tom was one of a kind and that is true.
Tom is survived by Louise (Wetzel) Davis, his wife of 58 years; daughter Meredith (Kris) Pound, of Durham, Maine; daughter Allison (Joe Cafferata) Davis, of Washington, DC; and two grandsons, Jonathan Thomas (JT) and Drew, both of Durham, Maine. His family knows he is now enjoying time with his best friends, his basset hounds, Goofy, Hoover, Bogie, Mavis, Flanders, and Hubert, and Cagney, the chihuahua.
A celebration of Tom’s life will be held on March 14, 2026 at 12 Noon Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., 250 Main Street, Emmaus. Visitation 10:00 to 12 Noon in the funeral home.
