Papa Terry
Age 79, of New Lenox, Illinois, peacefully passed away at home with his loving family.
Born on May 23, 1945 in Chicago, Illinois was the beloved son of Elmer and Gertrude. Growing up in Burbank, IL, attending Reavis High School class of 1963. After graduation he served in the United States Army from 1963 through 1966, honorably discharged. In 1967, Terry married the love of his life, Jean Rose (O'Connor) They eventually settled in Oak Lawn to raise their growing family, then moving to New Lenox, IL in 1995. Terry spent his career at GATX Corp in Summit, IL until he retired. Terry enjoyed camping and fishing with his family. He loved his morning cup of coffee with the newspaper. Terry spent his time reading or spoiling his loved ones. He had a passion for drag racing as a teen and kept his love of muscle cars for life.
Terry is survived by his children: Gina (Phil) Sullins, Gail (John) Morrow, Teresa (Ed) Pacetti, Cheryl (Dave) Frazier, Terry (Renee) Davisson, and Larry Davisson; Grandchildren: Josh Wegler, Bessie and Oliva Hatfield, Tim Davisson, Holly (Jeremy) Stowe, Eddie Pacetti, Clair (Christian) Bohne, Rebecca Pacetti, Tristan (Karley) Singer, Prestan and Shawn Frazier, Ashley and Emily Davisson, and Layla, Xander, and Sophie Bridgeman; as well as one great granddaughter, Charlotte, and Honorary Papa to Chris, Aurora, and Nova Liebke; two sisters: Judy and Cheryl; and his faithful companions Ozzie, Ruby, and Ellie Mae .
Terry was preceded in death by his parents, wife Jean, and sister Elaine (Bob) Ryan.
Papa Terry will be deeply missed by all that loved him.
The family will receive friends at Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 East Kahler Road, in Wilmington on Thursday, March 20, 2025 between the hours of 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.
Family and friends will assemble at Baskerville Funeral Home on Friday, March 21, 2025 at 9:00 a.m. for a funeral procession to Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, Illinois. Interment with Full Military Honors will follow at 10:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers the family asks for memorials to be distributed to charities of their choice.
Family and friends are encouraged to sign the online guest book, upload photographs, and share Terry’s memorial page via social media.
Funeral services and arrangements have been made under the direction and care of Reeves, Fruland, & Baskerville Funeral Homes and Crematory in Wilmington (815) 476-2181.
