Douglas Charles Davis
Age 64 of Wilmington, Illinois died Thursday evening, January 15, 2026, at Hines VA Medical Center in Maywood, Illinois.
Douglas Charles Davis was born February 15, 1961, in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. He was raised and educated in Wilmington and graduated from Wilmington High School with the Class of 1979.
Following high school, Douglas honorably served his country in the United States Air Force from 1980 to 1984, and after his military service, he held employment with Caterpillar Tractor Company.
Douglas was a former member of the Wilmington American Legion and was a true sports enthusiast, enjoying both football and baseball. He was someone who preferred a quiet life, often keeping to himself, and he found comfort and enjoyment in music. In earlier years, Douglas also took pleasure spending time outdoors hunting and fishing, prior to facing health issues later in life.
Douglas will be remembered for his independent spirit, his love of simple pleasures, and his service to his country.
Survivors include his mother, Annette Kincheloe of Wilmington; one daughter, Ramona (Philip) Riggs of Avon, Ohio; grandson, Hunter; one sister, Brenda Pearcy and his special friend Vicki Lair, both of Wilmington; aunt and uncle, David and Judy King of Gilbert, Arizona, and numerous cousins.
Douglas was preceded in death by his stepfather, Ben Kincheloe; brother-in-law, Arland Pearcy; grandparents: Charles and Geneva King and his uncle and aunt, Dennis and Barb King.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
The family will receive friends at Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 East Kahler Road in Wilmington on Monday, January 26, 2026, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of funeral procession 10:30 a.m. Douglas will then be laid to rest with full military honors in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery at 11:00 a.m.
