Memorial services for Mr. Thomas Ray Daws will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 25, 2025 at Big Oak Methodist Church, with Reverend Ben Jones officiating. There will be no visitation prior to the memorial service. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.
Mr. Daws, age 90, of DeKalb passed away on Monday, November 17, 2025 at Ochsner Rush Hospital in Meridian.
Thomas was born on June 5, 1935 in DeKalb, Mississippi to the late Stanton and Eunice Gewin Daws. He graduated from DeKalb High School in 1953 and then graduated from Mississippi State University in 1957. On February 20, 1959, he married Genelle McKee Daws, and to their union, three sons and one daughter were born. He was a member of Big Oak Methodist Church. Prior to his retirement, he worked as an office manager for the United States Department of Agriculture.
Survivors include his wife, Genelle "Nell" McKee Daws; children, David Gaston Daws (Debbie), Michael Lee Daws (Donna), and Janet Sue Jones (Andy); 7 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren; and numerous other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents as well as his eldest son, Steven Ray Daws.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions in memory of Mr. Daws be made to the charity of your choice.
