He was born in Louisville to Edward and Ann Hallie DeFrees. He served in the Air Force and was a computer programmer.
He was preceded in death by his father Edward G. DeFrees, his mother Ann Hallie Bush DeFrees, and his wife Janice DeFrees, and his great-granddaughter Zoe Sharpe.
He is survived by his son Thomas E (Lisa) DeFrees, Jr. of Jeffersonville, IN, two daughters Rhonda F. (Robert) Fredricks of Hartsell, AL, and Laura A. (Robert Springer) Martin of Magnolia, KY, his sister Elizabeth Ann DeFrees of Louisville, KY, eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, February 28, 2023 at 11:00 am at Manakee Funeral Home in Elizabethtown with Rev. Joe Bennett officiating. Burial will be held at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central in Radcliff.
Visitation will be Monday, February 27, 2023 from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm or Tuesday, February 28, 2023 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at Manakee Funeral Home in Elizabethtown.
