Thomas Draudt Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Toft Funeral Home, Wakeman Chapel on Sep. 30, 2025.

Publish in a newspaper

Thomas Earl Draudt was born May 27, 1943 in Lakewood, Ohio to Oris Earl Draudt and Mamie (Thomson) Draudt. He passed away on September 29, 2025 at the age of 82. Tom grew up in Lakewood, moved with his parents to Florida for a short time, and eventually moved back to Ohio, residing in Wakeman for many years, and later in Norwalk. Tom was a graduate of Western Reserve High School, class of 1961.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his beloved wife of 58 years, Beverly Ann (Watson) Draudt, whom he loved for 64 years. He is survived by their 3 children, Michele Williams (Thomas) of Powell, Ohio, Donna Coon (Chad) of Berlin Heights, Ohio, and Melissa Englert (Kevin) of Norwalk, Ohio. He has 11 grandchildren, Allory Williams Dudycz (Karol), Kellen Williams, Ellis Williams, Ryllan Williams, Tyler Coon, Hannah Coon, Micaela Sigsworth (Sam), Kaden Englert (Cortney), Olivia Juby (Nathan), Sydney Englert, Ava Englert, and 2 great grandchildren, Halle Juby and Veronica Englert.

Tom loved his family more than anything and was happiest when he was at family gatherings surrounded by his loved ones. He was also a devoted son who loved and cared for his parents faithfully. He loved music and could always be found playing the songs he enjoyed on his stereo and in his car. He loved making tapes and CD's of his favorite tunes for his family and friends, and instilled a love of music in his daughters. He played the piano and guitar and started a band when he was a young man, performing at local events. He was a disc jockey at a local radio station for a time. He loved movies, reading, fishing, and took up golfing for several years. He had a sweet tooth and was always up for going out for ice cream. He was a quiet, thoughtful person, but had a wry sense of humor and loved joking and kidding around with his daughters and grandchildren. He had a selfless, loyal, generous heart. He loved animals, even his mean cat Kato, and always had a biscuit or treat and a kind word for every family dog he visited. He was a hard worker, and was employed at Luxaire in Elyria, and later at Nordson in Amherst for many years. He will be deeply missed by his family, but always fondly remembered for his kindness, loyalty and love, and his devotion as a son, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and friend. His memory and legacy will live on in his family, a tribute to him.

We welcome those whose lives he touched to make a donation in his name to the Huron County Humane Society at www.huroncountyhumanesociety.com where he and his late wife Beverly adopted their little dog, Foxy, and to commemorate his love of animals.

Friends may call on Thursday, October 2, 2025 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Toft Funeral Home, Wakeman Chapel, 16 Cooper Street, Wakeman.
