Thomas Gregory Elmer

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Tom Elmer at the age of 71.

Born in Monroe, Michigan, in 1954, Tom was the fourth child of George and Helen Elmer. At the age of five, he moved with his family to Phoenix, Arizona, where he later graduated from Glendale Union High School in 1972.

Immediately following high school, Tom served six years in the United States Navy as a Vietnam-era veteran. After his honorable discharge, he pursued a college education and established a career in Information Technology, where he worked until his retirement.

A man of many talents and passions, Tom moved to Hood River, Oregon, in 2005. He was an avid hiker, a skilled photographer, a talented cook, and a published author. He also shared a deep bond with his pets, including his beloved dog, Izzy, and his cats, Hairball and Rusty.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents and his twin brother, Timothy George Elmer. He is survived by his sisters, Becky (Bob) Nelson and Betsy (Chris) Berens, as well as many nieces and nephews.
