Thomas James "Tom" Felts

Thomas James "Tom" Felts, devoted husband, father, grandfather, Master Mason, and faithful servant of the Lord Jesus Christ, passed away peacefully on February 21, 2026, at the age of 83.

Tom was born in February 1943 in Wichita Falls, Texas, to Wilbert James "W.J." Felts and Pauline Ostine Sides Felts. He graduated from Wichita Falls Senior High School in 1961 and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business, with a minor in Economics, from Midwestern State University.

On February 23, 1962, he married his high school sweetheart, Donna Cape, in her childhood home in Wichita Falls, Texas. They first met as childhood friends at Bible Baptist Church, where their shared faith in Jesus Christ became the foundation of their 64-year marriage.

Tom began his career in banking at Texas Bank and Trust and later devoted 29 years to Sears, serving in credit management and leadership roles. He also held positions with First USA Bank, First Data Corp, Alliance Data Systems, and Etsell Inc., dedicating more than four decades to his professional life. He retired in 2019 at the age of 76. Tom and Donna lived in five states before settling in Johnson City, Tennessee.

His Christian faith defined his life and shaped the way he loved his family, served his church, and treated everyone he met. Tom faithfully served as a Deacon at First Baptist Church in Webster, Texas, and sought to honor the Lord in his family, church, and work. He was also a Master Mason and valued the fellowship and service it represented.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Donna Cape Felts; son, Jeffrey Felts (Suzanna); daughter, Dana Felts Haddad (Yousif); grandchildren Paul Felts (Mikaylee), Nathan Felts (Sophia), Daley Sparacino, Dylan Sparacino, Davonley Haddad, and Dax Haddad; great-granddaughter Ruth Felts; and his sisters, Carrie Wood (Tim) and Paula Wade.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Richard Felts.

Tom trusted fully in Jesus Christ and is now home with his Lord and Savior.

Services will take place at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 14, at Cypress-Fairbanks Funeral Home in Cypress, Texas. Burial will be at Crestview Memorial Park in Wichita Falls, Texas, on Saturday, March 21, at 11 a.m. Special thanks to the staff of HomeWell Care Services. Honorary pallbearers are his grandsons.
