Thomas James Gallo

Thomas J. Gallo, a resident of Kingston, died on Feb. 22 at the age of 83. He was born in Boston, the son of the late Gertrude (Archese) and Frank Gallo. He is survived by his wife, Amy Beth (Cleveland), daughter Robin, son Thomas, sisters Eleanor, Carol, Helen, and Diane, and brothers Bill, Alfred, and Michael, as well as several grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his sister Maureen and brothers Frank and James.

Tom lived and worked most of his life on the south shore. He moved to Kingston in 1982 and went to work at R.S. Means Company in 1984, where he remained until his retirement in 2010. In retirement Tom loved tending his yard in the ah-de-nah, greeting neighbors as he worked. He found his passion for bird carving when a neighbor gave him carving tools and carving classes for his birthday. He has gifted and filled his home with his beautiful creations. Tom volunteered for the Kingston Council On Aging, having been named as volunteer of the year in 2011, as well as volunteering at the Kingston Animal Shelter, to which memorial donations can be made in his name.

Interment will be in Manomet Cemetery.
