Thomas "Big T" Melvin Garner, age 69, of Amity, passed away on Tuesday, February 10, 2026.

He was born on October 19, 1956, in Glenwood, the son of Calvin and Alta Faye Jones Garner. On August 20, 1976, he married the love of his life, Gina Carol Bean. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Richard Garner and Earl Ray Garner; and his father-in-law, Curt Bean. 

He was a member of the Amity Volunteer Fire Department and served for 20 years. He was employed with Dwiggins Peach Shed, Bean Lumber Company, and D&J Trucking. 

Thomas enjoyed going to the farm and raising cattle; hunting and fishing, but his greatest joy was spending time with all his family. 

He is survived by his wife of forty-nine years, Gina Garner of Amity; his daughter and son-in-law, Christy and Marty Buck of Amity; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Doyce and Peggy Garner of Benton, Terry and Judy Garner of Haskell, Jerry and Jane Garner of Arkadelphia, Donnie and Jackie Garner of Amity, and David and Carla Garner of El Dorado; his sisters-in-law, Carolyn Garner and Elizabeth Garner both of Arkadelphia; his mother-in-law, Jane Bean; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Tim and Debby Bean of Caddo Gap; his sisters in law, Melanie and Craig Hall of Glenwood and Corey and Scott Thomason of Fayetteville; and many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members, and a host of wonderful friends. 

Pallbearers will be his nephews. 

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, February 16, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Smith Family Funeral Home Chapel- Glenwood with Bro. Jimmy Forsythe and Bro. John McAnally officiating. 

Visitation will be held an hour prior to services on Monday, from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Smith Family Funeral Home Chapel- Glenwood.

Interment will be held at Jones Cemetery in Amity. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Jones Cemetery Fund; C/O Christy Buck, 2579 Fendley Rd, Amity, AR 71921.
