Thomas W. Gremo, 82, of Grafton, passed away peacefully in his home on February 27, 2024, with his devoted and beloved family gathered by his side. Born February 21, 1942, in Worcester, he was the son of the late Ralph Gremo Sr. and Carmella (Marrandino) Gremo.
Tom was a graduate of Commerce High School and a proud Army Veteran. He owned Tom’s Tile and Carpet in Shrewsbury and was later employed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a State Auditor. Tom enjoyed traveling, golf and was an avid gardener, especially of bright flowers and tomatoes. In his earlier years, he enjoyed playing pool and was a member of a bowling league where he won several championship trophies. Tom was also a proud member of the Brown Square Civic Club.
Tom loved cooking for his family and friends. He was happiest spending time with his family, never missing a school or sporting event of his beloved grandchildren. Tom was the life of the party, always full of love, jokes and laughter. He will be greatly missed.
Tom is survived by his wife and best friend of fifty-seven years, Patricia (Riggieri) Gremo; his loving daughters, Kimberly Gremo and Michelle Kelley, and her husband Thomas; his adored grandchildren, Madison Kelley and Matthew Kelley; his cherished brother, Michael Gremo and his wife Cindy; brothers- in-law, Paul Riggieri and his partner Candra Szymanski, and Walter Moquin; sisters- in-law, Cheryl Ferguson and her husband Richard, Margaret DiGregorio and her husband Robert, Lillian Gremo and Rosemary Gremo; and several nieces and nephews. Thomas was predeceased by his sisters, Cecelia Moccia, Philomena Begonis-Lynch, and Elsie Moquin; his brothers, Ralph Gremo II, Crispino Gremo, Nicholas Gremo, Anthony Gremo, and Joseph Gremo.
Tom’s family is grateful for the support he received from the UMass Memorial Health Cancer Center and Notre Dame Hospice throughout his illness.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, March 3, 2024, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, March 4, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Loreto Parish, 37 Massasoit Road, Worcester. Family and friends who wish to join the procession to the church are welcome to gather at the funeral home at 10:00am. Interment will immediately follow Mass at St. John’s Cemetery and Mausoleum, Worcester.
