Thomas A. Hamilton, age 67, of Boone County, Kentucky, passed away on March 1, 2026. He was born
on November 14, 1958.
Thomas, lovingly known as Tom, was preceded in death by his parents, Adrain and Nola Hamilton.
Tom proudly served his country as an Army Medic, enlisting in 1976. His service was a source of quiet
pride and shaped much of the man he was—steady, caring, and always ready to help others.
Tom had a deep love for life and those around him. He adored his fur babies, enjoyed telling stories from
his past, and found happiness in fishing, hunting, grilling out, watching old war and western movies, and
lighting off fireworks. There was truly never a dull moment when Tom was around—he had a way of filling
any space with laughter, stories, and unforgettable memories.
He leaves behind his loving fiancée of 22 years, Bonnie Laird, whom he loved dearly. He is also survived
by his stepchildren: Crystal Laird (Terry Gibson), Robert Lee Laird, and Darin (Tina) Gordon. Tom
was a devoted and playful grandfather to Summer (Jon) De Metsenare, Branden Gordon, Sierra Laird
(Travis Gibson), Aspen Ellsworth, and Navona Laird. He cherished time spent playing board games
with them, using his metal detector to hunt for hidden treasures, and baking together—and he had special
nicknames for each one, a small reflection of his big heart.
Services are being provided by Alliance Funeral Home and Cremation Center. A private Celebration of Life will be held by the
family.
Tom will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him, but his stories, laughter, and love will live on in
the hearts of his family forever.
