William Hamilton Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Brubaker Funeral Home, Inc. - Coplay on Mar. 4, 2026.
William "Bill" A. Hamilton, 85, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully in his house on Wednesday, March 4, 2026.

Born and raised in Delaware County, he was a son of the late William Osbourne Hamilton and Mary Ellen (Daveport) Hamilton. He was the loving husband of Nancy L. (Lonnquist) Hamilton with whom he shared 28 years of marriage.

Bill was a graduate of Widener University class of 1963. He was an Accountant for the United States Government retiring after 34 years of exemplary employment.

Bill carried his pride for his Delco roots throughout his life. Later, he relocated to the Lehigh Valley, where he continued to build lasting friendships and community.

Bill was a devoted Philadelphia sports fan and rarely missed an opportunity to cheer on his teams. An avid basketball player, he continued playing well into his 60's – a testament to both his athleticism and his love of the game.

Above all, Bill loved his family. He was a devoted husband, a proud father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and the steady presence his family could always rely on. His dry sense of humor, quite kindness, and unwavering love will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew him.

Those left to cherish fond memories including his wife Nancy are his sons William Hamilton (Elizabeth), Eric Schloegel (Jacklyn), daughters Jeanne Goloub, Andrea Nolan (Timothy) and Kristin Amato (Rick), beloved brother John Hamilton (Margaret), 13 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents.

A celebration of Bill's life will be held at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made directly to: Family Pillars Hospice, 3910 Adler Place, Suite 130, Bethlehem, PA. 18017.
