Thomas Charles Haslinger, 76, of Port Clinton, Ohio, formerly of Fremont, Ohio, passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness on Sunday, June 15, 2025. He was born in Fremont, OH on December 13, 1948, to the late Robert and Edna Haslinger. Tom was a 1966 graduate of Fremont St. Joseph High School.
Tom is survived by his beloved partner of 23 years, Janet Celek; his devoted sons, Christopher (Priya) Haslinger of Maryland and Patrick (Jenny) Wedge of Florida; his cherished sister, Diana Stephens of Grove City, Ohio; and six adored grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Haslinger.
Tom was known for his warm heart and generous spirit. He had a knack for making everyone feel welcome and valued, whether through his volunteer work at the VFW Thanksgiving dinners or organizing Easter activities at St. Joseph. His dedication to helping others was a testament to his selflessness and compassion.
As a skilled welder, Tom completed his apprenticeship at UA Local 50 and worked on various projects before transitioning to a successful career in sales at Commercial Pump Service. His colleagues remember him not just for his expertise, but for his integrity and the genuine friendships he formed.
Tom found immense joy in being on the water, whether it was boating or simply enjoying the serenity of the waves. He had an infectious love for life and a sense of adventure that inspired those around him. Above all, he treasured the moments spent with his family, creating memories that will be cherished forever. His laughter, wisdom, and unwavering support were the cornerstones of his family's lives.
A member of St. Joseph Church, 822 Barclay St, Marblehead, OH 43440, Tom's life will be celebrated with a Mass and luncheon on Saturday, July 5, 2025, at 10:30 am. Family and friends are invited to honor his memory and share stories of his kindness and generosity. His burial will follow the luncheon at McPherson Cemetery in Clyde, OH. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation, Bishop Hoffman Catholic Schools SJCC Campus or Heartland Hospice.
