Tommy Henderson, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 2, 2025, at the age of 76.
Born on December 20, 1948, Tommy lived a life defined by unwavering faith, deep devotion to his family, and a profound love for the outdoors. With an evangelistic heart, he was always ready to share his faith and offer encouragement—his quiet strength and generous spirit leaving a lasting impact on countless lives.
He was the devoted husband of Sue Henderson, his partner and best friend through every season of life. Together, they raised two sons, Scott (wife Kristin) Henderson and Kevin (wife Amie) Henderson, who carry forward his legacy of integrity, compassion, and quiet leadership. Tommy was also a proud and loving grandfather to Seth, Blake, Brody, Mason, Tucker, Kate, Harlee, Cole, and Claire—each of whom brought him immeasurable joy and pride.
After 25 years of dedicated service, Tommy retired from Chevron Phillips in 2011. In retirement, he found peace and renewal in the outdoors—hunting, fishing, and soaking in the beauty of nature that so vividly reflected the Creator he loved.
Tommy’s life was a testament to his faith, work ethic, and the enduring value of family. Though he will be deeply missed, he will be fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A memorial service to celebrate his life and legacy will be held on Thursday, April 17th at 1:00 PM at First Baptist Church, West Columbia. All who knew and loved Tommy are warmly invited to attend.
