Thomas William "Tom" Hickey

Thomas (Tom) William Hickey, 68 of Hillsboro, Virginia, passed away on Friday, March 27, 2026, after a brief but brutal cancer battle.

Tom was born on April 17, 1957, to Mary (Valestin) and William Hickey in East Orange, NJ.

Tom was preceded in death by his mother, father, and brother, David.

He is survived by his beloved dog Tucker, his daughter Megan, his stepson Michael (Nicole), his sister Patricia, his sister-in-law Mary, and nieces, nephews, and grandchildren who will miss him dearly.

Tom was a master tile contractor, beautifying homes in Western Loudoun County for nearly 45 years. He was an avid gardener, fisherman, reader, crossword puzzler, and gourmet cook. Above all, his favorite role was dad. He leaves a strong community of friends, like Dave Gibson, Rob and Faith Gordon, Kate Allen Aytes, Walt Kruckles, Cory Raymer and Cayce Rockhill, and others too numerous to name.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Friends of Loudoun County Animal Services.

A celebration of life will be held in Loudoun County in May, with details to follow.
