Dr. Thomas Charles Hohmann, 82, of
Naples, Florida, passed away at his home on October 26, 2010 with his wife at his side, following a long battle with Parkinsons disease. He was born on October 14, 1928 and a native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Mary Clare Hohmann, brother Raymond A. Hohmann, daughter, Natalie Clare Hohmann and son-in-law, Bruce Berger of San Diego, California, son Tim Hohmann and daughter-in-law, Joann Hohmann of Atlanta, Georgia and grandson, Luke Hohmann.
Dr. Hohmann was a dedicated and accomplished physician. He received his Medical Doctor degree from the University of Pittsburgh in 1954. From 1956-1958 he was a Captain in the Medical Corps of the United States Army. In the 1960s to early 1970s he became the Medical Director of the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at St. Francis General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA; where he also served as President of the Medical Staff and Chairman of the Executive Committee. In the mid 1970s, he was the Chairman of the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation for North Hills Passavant Hospital in the suburbs of Pittsburg.
Tom will be remembered as a tireless physician who lived his Catholic faith by serving the needs of thousands of patients, hospital staff members and family. He was a role model of the perseverance and faith and will be dearly missed by many.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, October 30th at 11:00 Oclock A.M. at St. William Catholic Church, 750 Seagate Dr. Naples. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Entombment will follow at Naples Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to St. William Catholic Church Building Fund, 750 Seagate Dr.
