Thomas Houston Jr., affectionately known as Tommie Jr., was born on March 9, 1949, in Atlanta, Georgia, to the late Thomas Houston Sr. and the late Rosie B. Wallace. On January 25, 2026, he peacefully departed his earthly home for his heavenly home, surrounded by the love and comfort of his family.

Thomas accepted Christ at an early age at Galilee Missionary Baptist Church in Opelika, Alabama. He remained a faithful member until his passing and served proudly in the men's ministry.

In his early twenties, Thomas moved to Chicago, Illinois, where he met and married the love of his life, Fern Houston. Their union of 46 years was a testament to devotion, partnership, and unwavering love. He later returned to his hometown of West Point, Georgia, where he continued building a life rooted in family, faith, and service.

A dedicated and hardworking man, Thomas entered the workforce immediately after high school and rarely took time off. He spent over 20 years employed with Interface before retiring in 2020. Following his retirement, he devoted himself to caring for his mother until her passing in 2025-an act that reflected his deep loyalty and compassion.

To know Thomas Jr. was to know laughter, generosity, and a heart always ready to help others. His presence brought joy, and his spirit left an imprint on everyone blessed to cross his path.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Willie B. Houston; grandsons, Jonathan L. Morris and Jeremiah Douglas; and stepbrothers, K.C. Jones Jr., Jesse Jones, Walter Jones, Tommy Jones, Otis Jones, and step-sister, Eliza Ann Jones.

Thomas Houston Jr. leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Fern Houston of West Point, Georgia; one son, Jermaine Houston (his best friend) of West Point, Georgia; three daughters, Tolandra Douglas of Toledo, OH, Angela Houston of West Point, Georgia and Sherrondolyn (Jeffrey) Dawson of West Point, Georgia; two brothers, Rogers (Laverne) Houston of Riverview, Alabama and William (Allison) Jones of Lanett, Alabama; one sister, Brenda (Leonard) Truitt of West Point, Georgia; mother- in-love, Gertie Corner of West Point, Georgia; one brother-in- love, William (Venita) Black of Clarendon, Arkansas ; three stepsisters, Ruby Jones of Valley, Alabama, Dorothy Jones of Lanett, Alabama and Deborah Chambers of Columbus, Georgia; one uncle, Walter(Teressa)Wallace of West Point, Georgia; one aunt, Mattie Streeter of Orlando, Florida; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
