Thomas Husted Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home on Jan. 13, 2026.
SOUTHBURY - It is with great sadness that the Husted family announces the passing on January 10, 2026 of their father and brother, Thomas More Husted, age 70. Tom was born on February 28, 1955 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Mary Elizabeth and Theodore Henry Husted II. Tom is survived by his beloved children: Clifford, Margaret, and William as well as his special companion and Maggie's partner, Nick Arcand. Additionally, Tom is survived by five siblings: Mike (Betsey); Ted, III (Wanda); Cathy Sheffler (Tim); Betsy Mendez (Efrain); and Chris (Cathy). Tom is also survived by his former wife, Brenda Dilley McWilliams (Joseph) with whom he remained close. Tom further left behind many nieces and nephews to cherish his memory. He was predeceased by his parents and his brother, James.

He graduated from Iona University where he played football and excelled in academics before earning his Masters from the University of New Haven. Tom retired as a computer network engineer to the comfort of his home where he dedicated time to his children and thoroughly enjoyed the holidays. He was always available to problem solve and give relationship advice to his children and all their friends. Tom was a lifelong fan of the New York Jets, New York Mets, New York Rangers, and later in life, the University of Connecticut (UCONN) women's basketball. He was a Jeopardy aficionado and never missed an episode of the Big Bang Theory. Tom was well known for his quick wit and terrible dad jokes and enjoyed crossword puzzles, brain games, and random trivia. He was a huge Harry Potter fan, loved the Beatles, and enjoyed camping and reading. Above all, Tom was a proud father and spent many years as a soccer, basketball, little league, and softball coach. Tom was also a devout Catholic whose faith was important to him. He was a very special man to all who had the privilege to know him.

All services will be held at the convenience of the family, and the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 W. Church St., Seymour, CT 06483 has been entrusted with his services.
