MAY'S LICK — Thomas B. Jones, 73, of May's Lick, formerly of the Lewisburg Community, passed away on Monday, Feb. 2, 2026, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
If you knew Tom, you knew he had a love for his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Tommy was a farmer all his life and loved nothing more than plowing, planting, and harvesting his crops.
He could fix anything with an engine. Tom's best times were spent with his family. He loved cookouts with everyone and of course a medium rare ribeye steak!
Tommy was born April 30, 1952, to the late Claude and Gladys Jones.
Survivors include his loving wife of 54 years, Doris Newdigate Jones, whom he married Aug. 21, 1971. Doris was Tommy's best friend and his caregiver. Tommy is also survived by his children Rick Jones of Maysville, Christy Dotson (Shannon) of Mayslick, Josh Jones (Amber) of Augusta; grandchildren Maegan Norris (Patrick), Kyle Jones (Aliyah), Zac Sowers, Samantha Cunningham (Devin), Kara Robinson (Justin), Kristen Williams (Drew), Austin Williams, Blake Zornes (Haley), Serena Zornes (Gage), Erin and Shelby Dotson, Addison Jones, Ella Jones, Cashton Hamilton; great-grandchildren Mackenzie, Layne, Knox, Bexley, Paisley, Jaxson, Emma, and Aubrey; brother Earl Lee Jones (Tammy); sisters Mary England (Johnny), Sue Simpson, Kathy Duncan (Ronnie), Francis Lang (Steve); sisters-in-law Sharon Bellows, Debbie Newdigate, Mary Rose Jones, and Jocelyn Jones; and a host of nieces, nephews and many friends.
Tommy, lovingly known as "Pappy", also leaves behind not only his caretaker of the last four years, but his oldest granddaughter Kara Robinson, who has taken the very best care of her Pappy.
Besides his parents, Tommy was preceded in death by siblings Eddie and Sammy Jones; in-laws Mark and Mike Newdigate, Patty Hanshaw; nephews Kevin "Stinkly" Newdigate, Ashley Riggs, Dusty Riggs. Tommy had a love for animals and lost his faithful companion "Pup" just four days prior to his passing.
Services for Tommy will be at 12 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 6, 2026, at Brell and Son Funeral Home, with Pastor Larry Manning officiating. Burial will follow in Wedonia Cemetery.
Visitation will be Thursday at the funeral home from 5 to 7 p.m., and one hour prior to the service on Friday.
Pallbearers will be Tommy's grandsons, Austin Williams, Kyle Jones, Blake Zornes, Justin Robinson, Drew Cooper and Patrick Norris.
