Thomas R. Kaffer
Age 74,resident of Onarga, IL, formerly of Lombard, IL, passed away suddenly, May 29, 2022 at Ascension St. Mary Kankakee, IL. He was born on May 30, 1947 in Joliet, IL, the son of the late Robert J. and Kathryn (Koehl) Kaffer.
Tom was a graduate of Joliet Academy and was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force. Tom retired from United Airlines as a ramp serviceman after more than 40 years of dedicated employment, retiring in 2009. He cherished the time he spent with his family, especially his grandsons.
Tom is survived by his wife of 52 years, Linda (nee Sullivan) Kaffer; daughter, Kimberly (Bryan) Bartels; his grandsons, Nicholas Bartels and Zachary Bartels; and his sisters, Karen (Jack) Williamson and Susan (Doug) Steger; Numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.
He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Robert J. (Mary) Kaffer.
Memorial Visitation for Thomas R. Kaffer will be held Wednesday, June 8, 11:00 a.m. until the time of Memorial Service at 1:00 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd. (at Essington Rd.), Joliet, IL. Inurnment will follow at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.
