Thomas Allen Keiber Jr., 43, of Falls, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Monday, Jan. 17, 2022.
Born in Tunkhannock, on July 28, 1978, Thomas was the son of the former Patricia Dibble Keiber of Falls, and the late Thomas Keiber, Sr. (d. March 27, 2017).
He was a 1996 graduate of Elk Lake High School before attending Penn State Wilkes-Barre and Mansfield University, where he graduated with a degree in criminal justice. He was employed at the Bradford County Correctional Facility, Tyler Memorial Hospital as a security guard, St. Michael's School, and Cargill. He was currently employed as a rural carrier for the USPS Laceyville Office.
Tom was a member of the Meshoppen United Methodist Church and was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. His biggest pride and joy was his 16-point buck which he had mounted and displayed in his hunting room.
Tom had a heart of gold and his title of 'Great' Uncle was really more than just a title, he was a great uncle. He loved his great nieces and nephew and always loved to spend time with them. He looked forward to putting in hay on the family farm with Uncle Ray and Aunt Sue along with his many cousins. Tom also enjoyed playing pool with his sister, Lucy. He loved his dogs and leaves behind Chloe, his little buddy.
In addition to his mother, Tom is survived by his sisters: Jessica Murphy of Noxen, and Lucille Keiber of Falls; his nephew, Ben Stine IV of Noxen; his nieces: Kendra Hettesheimer (Brian) of Monroe Township and Staci Shefler (Jeff) of Vernon; his great nephew, Timber Shefler; his great nieces: Fern Shefler and Josephine 'Red' Hettesheimer; his aunts: Sue Nulton (Jeff) of Laceyville, Helen Keiber of Hendersonville, N.C.; and his uncles: Raymond Dibble of South Auburn and Kern Dibble (Muriel) of Meshoppen; and many cousins.
A memorial service was held for Tom on Monday evening, Jan. 24, at 7 p.m., from the Sheldon Funeral Home, 66 Main Street, Meshoppen. Officiating the service was Reverend Thomas Mott of the Meshoppen United Methodist Church and Reverend Robin Fillmore of the Falls United Methodist Church. Interment will take place at the Overfield Cemetery in Meshoppen, at a later date at the convenience of the family.
