Thomas Michael Koji Kitchen, age 33, of Moberly, MO, passed away unexpectedly on January 13, 2023.
Michael was born on August 22, 1989, in Columbia, MO, to Michael K. and Regina Kitchen. Michael graduated from Moberly Senior High School in 2008.
Michael faced many challenges in his young life. Beneath his tough exterior, he was a very sensitive, caring, and compassionate young man trying to find his place in this world. In his younger years, he enjoyed playing sports; his favorites being football and wrestling. As he aged, his focus was on family, which was very important to Michael. In recent years, he was especially close to his brother, Skyler, who was not only his brother, but came to be his best friend. He was a special son, brother, nephew, cousin, grandson, and friend, and will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
Michael is preceded in death by his mother, Regina L. Kitchen; grandfather, Thomas J. Kitchen; grandmother, Stella Bentch; grandfather, Thomas Bentch; uncle(s), Bruce Dent and James Stodgell.
Michael is survived by his father, Mike Kitchen, of Moberly, MO; his brother, Skyler Kitchen, Moberly, MO; aunt, Karen Dent, Moberly, MO; uncle(s), John (Cathy) Kitchen, Fulton, IL, and Steve (Felicia) Bentch, Macon, MO; numerous cousins; extended family and many close friends.
A funeral service celebrating Michael’s life is scheduled for Friday, January 20, 2023, at 2:00 p.m., with visitation before the service from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. at Pathway-Millard Family Funeral Chapels. Interment to follow at Hager Cemetery, Huntsville, MO.
