Tom Klaus, 91, formerly of Washington, Illinois, passed away on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, at the Loft Rehabilitation and Nursing in Eureka, Illinois.
He was born to Arthur and Esther Klaus on August 3, 1935, in Eureka, Illinois.
Tom attended Illinois Wesleyan University and earned a bachelor's degree in Marketing from the University of Illinois.
Tom was employed as a sales representative for many years. He enjoyed music, playing cards with friends, and both watching and participating in a variety of sports. He was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs and the Chicago Bears! Tom was also a referee for community basketball and football games.
Tom was a proud father of his three daughters and a "favorite" uncle to many nieces and nephews, who enjoyed his sense of humor.
Among those surviving are three daughters, Janet Freihofer of San Diego, California; Barb (Craig) Martin and Debbie (Paul) Osborne, both of Washington; six grandchildren, Zach, Lauren, Trevor, Donovan, Dylan, and Kaitlyn; and one great-granddaughter, Ava.
Cremation rites have been completed, and his family will privately celebrate his life. If you'd like to honor his memory, you can make memorial contributions to The Alzheimer's Association.
