Thomas Kokoska Obituary

Thomas M. Kokoska
1953 - 2024
After a valiant and heroic 10 years, Thomas Mark Kokoska lost his battle with cancer on September 8, 2024. He was the most devoted husband, brother and uncle. Born on December 6, 1953, Tom was the youngest of nine children born to Frank and Rose Pierwola Kokoska. They saved the best for last. There was never a time he said "no" to a request of anyone and he was always first in line to help. Tom graduated from Staples High School in Westport and attended Norwalk State Technical College where he excelled in mechanical and architectural drafting, winning several awards. He went on to become a self-employed master carpenter throughout lower Fairfield County.
He loved the outdoors and went crabbing whenever he could. He loved growing vegetables and blueberries and working with his bees. His greatest pleasure in life was helping his family and friends or anyone with their projects, in addition to always having his own projects going on.
Tom is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Susan McCoy Kokoska of Newtown; his remaining brother, John (Jay) Kokoska of Pennsylvania; sisters, Frances Johnson of Missouri, Dorothy Bellefuille of Easton, Patricia (Bob) Palmer of Maryland, Maryann (Greg) Belta of Westport, and Rosemarie Corr of Fairfield; and, his sisters-in-law Robin (Richard) Burns of Pennsylvania and Carole (Don) MacIntyre of Weston. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. He loved his devoted dog Sandy. We are all blessed to have been a part of his life.
In addition to his parents, Tom was predeceased by his brother, Frank and his sister, Carol.
Services will take place on Monday, September 16, 2024, at 11 a.m. directly at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 149 South Pine Creek Road in Fairfield. There will be no calling hours and interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in his memory be made to Long Island Shetland Sheepdog Rescue, 49 First Avenue, East Rockaway, NY 11518 or LISSR.org.

Rose My deepest sympathy to you and your family for the loss of Tom. When I was attending St Anthony´s school at lunch time I was in charge of watching the first and second graders. I remember Tom so well. He was so adorable with that beautiful blonde hair. He is now in the glory of God and eternal pease and love. God bless him and your family. Love Maryann Janik Somers

There will always be a large void in my heart, having lost my baby brother to the evil of cancer. He will aways be my super hero.

How lucky am I to have the best baby brother in the world. Always there to do whatever needed to be done. Only asking for meatballs or turnovers in return. He was funny and weird and loving all at the same time. Fought to the end. At peace now. Will always be my hero!
