Thomas R. Lakin Sr.

Thomas R. "Tom" Lakin Sr., 83, of South Greensburg, died Thursday, Feb. 12, 2026, at his home. He was born on Aug. 28, 1942, in Greensburg, a son of the late Donald Lakin and Alice Ryan Lakin. Tom was a member of South Greensburg Methodist Church. Prior to retirement, he worked as a printer for the Tribune Review. Tom was a life member of the South Greensburg Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed bowling and playing softball in the fire department league. He also enjoyed being outdoors and vacationing at Deep Creek Lake, Maryland. Most of all, Tom loved being with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jeannine Mae Smith Lakin; and also his son, Thomas R. Lakin Jr. Thomas is survived by his children, Terri Reese (George) and Jay Lakin (Kim); his grandchildren, Rob Reese (Shannon), Taylor Germovsek (Pat), Rachel Reese, Mandi Leonard (Casey), Kacie Chmiel (Chris), Brittney Brown (Drew), Ty Lakin (Lindsey), Nicole Plues (Brian), Kelsey Fleegle (Zach), and Tony Lakin; his great-grandchildren, Paisley, Coleman, Lakin, Kai, Carter, Lorelei, Mason, Reagan, Harper, Wyatt, and another on the way; his brother, Ron Lakin (Marlene); sister, Donna Garrison; and also a number of nieces and nephews. Services and interment for Tom are private. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, www.cancer.org.
