Thomas LeStrange Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home on Sep. 21, 2021.
Thomas J. LeStrange of Conklin, NY passed away on Sunday morning, September 19, 2021, after a courageous battle, from a heart attack. He was predeceased by his mother, Mary LeStrange. Those who will carry on his strong love of family are his wife of 48 years, Pauline, his son, Patrick (Hyunji), and grandson, Huhn, from Virginia; and his daughter, Kelly (Erik), and grandchildren, Cameron, Claire and Olivia of Endwell.
Tom was a graduate of Laurel Hill Academy, Susquehanna, PA and St. Bonaventure University. As St. Bonaventure's true number one fan, and as he does at the beginning of each basketball season, Tom believes this is is the year St. Bonaventure will win the NCAA finals. After graduation, Tom spent 34 years teaching English for the Windsor School District.
After he retired, he enjoyed working for BOCES in the copying center and also at Satico's.
Tom was a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians (AOH) and worked on the St. Patrick's Day Parade Committee for many years.
Tom always put his family first and truly loved his grandchildren. He was quiet, kind and had a unique sense of humor.
The family would like to thank many special people who have helped us through these difficult times over the past weeks - Joe & JoAnn Hawley, Barb Jones, Dave & Barb Pochily, Ron & Sharon Salluzzo, and the doctors and staff of the CVICU at UHS Wilson Medical Center and of the CICU at Strong Memorial Hospital.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Susquehanna Valley Dollars for Scholars program (https://sv.dollarsforscholars.org/) or to the Discovery Center of the Southern Tier (https://thediscoverycenter.org/give/).
A Funeral Mass will be offered at the Church of Saints John and Andrew, Vestal Avenue, Binghamton, Friday at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the J.A. McCormack Sons Funeral Home, 141 Main Street, Binghamton, Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. Please observe CDC guidelines.

I just heard of Tom´s passing. Although we haven´t seen each other in years, I remember him as a great guy to have as an upper classman. He was a good guy to have around. Anyone at Laurel Hill in the late `60s will never forget his picturesque jump shot. He was a great all-around player and person!

One of the greatest things that happened to me when teaching at Windsor was being assigned to the same "team" as Tom. I am eternally grateful for his wisdom, guidance and friendship through our careers. My sincere condolences to Pauline and his entire family. A good man gone too soon.
