Thomas "Tom" Oliver Lied passed away peacefully on Monday, August 12, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Born on September 4, 1933, Tom lived a remarkable 90 years filled with dedication to his family and his profession.
Tom was the beloved husband of the late Carol Lied and a devoted father to Susan, Robb (Linda), Steve, and Marjie. He was a dear brother to Janice and a cherished grandfather to Carolyn (Corey), Erica, Drew (Amanda), Eric (Lauren), Ruth, Anna, Nikita, and Natasha. He was also the adoring great-grandfather of Cameron and Chloe. Tom was preceded in death by his wife, Carol, and his grandson, Jake.
Tom dedicated his professional life to the landscape industry as a Chartered Certified Landscape Professional. He played a national leadership role in advancing the profession, guiding it to new heights. As the former CEO and co-owner of Lied's Nursery along with his father Delmar Lied and son Robb Lied, Tom invested in building a strong team and a supportive community, all in service of creating beautiful landscapes for his clients, whom he cared for deeply. His legacy of care, creativity, and love will continue to shine through his family, friends, and the landscapes he created.

I have been in the landscape industry for 30 years now and 18 at Lied's and every bit of experience and knowledge I have was learned there and I am a better man because of Tom Lied and for that I will forever be grateful. Rest in peace.
