Anna R. (Weist) Lied, 88, formerly of Sinking Spring, passed away peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior, Thursday, June 13, 2024 at the Reading Hospital. She was the wife of the late William H. Davis, who passed away in 2023 and the late C. Paul Lied, Jr., who passed away in 1993.
Anna, a daughter of the late LeRoy and Mary (Graeff) Weist, was the last of nine children. She is survived by four children, Gregory P. Lied, husband of Cristy, Debra, wife of Phil Diesing, Donna Lied, and Cindy, wife of Mike Kerkeslager; and six grandchildren, Evan Lied, Jordan Lied, Michaela Brannum, Jacob Brannum, Jay Kerkeslager, and Ben Kerkeslager.
She was a 1953 graduate of Ontelaunee High School and retired from the Conrad Weiser School District as a van driver, having previously worked on the family's dairy farm, Cushion Peak.
She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, where she was very active. In her previous years, she was also very active in the Olive Leaf Sunday School and the Leesport Auction that was founded by her parents.
When she was younger, she loved cooking for everyone and really enjoyed eating desserts. She took great pleasure in volunteering at school, Sunday school, church, Gouglersville Grange, and in the community.
Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, July 27th, at St. John's Lutheran Church, 4125 Penn Ave., Sinking Spring. Visitation with the family will be held from 10-11:00 AM, Saturday, at the church. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery Lamm & Witman Funeral Home, 243 W. Penn Ave., Wernersville, is handling arrangements. Online condolences may be made at www.lammandwitman.com.
In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to her church, St. John's Lutheran Church, 4125 Penn Ave., Sinking Spring, PA 19608.
