Thomas Loran Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Goes Funeral Care & Crematory - Fort Collins on Dec. 11, 2025.
Thomas Frank Loran, 90, passed away peacefully on December 3, 2025 in Fort Collins, Colorado.

Tom was born on August 27, 1935 in Tacoma, Washington to Frank and Marjorie (McGovern) Loran. He grew up in Tacoma and attended Holy Rosary School and Bellarmine High School, graduating in 1953 with a scientific diploma. On April 27, 1957, Tom married the love of his life, Mollyrose Preston, in Spokane, Washington. Together they shared a devoted partnership that spanned 68 years.

Tom was a quiet and steady presence, the kind of man who led with action rather than words. He cared deeply for his family and his community. He was a skilled woodworker, a motorcycle enthusiast, and a sought-after fixer for all things. Tom found his greatest joys in service to family and community and in spending time with his many grandchildren. He lived his faith with humility and remained active in the Catholic Church as his health allowed.

Tom served his country with honor in the United States Air Force, retiring as a Master Sergeant after more than 20 years of active duty. Following his military career, he continued his dedication to service and hard work during a second career with IBM, where he later retired again.

Tom is survived by his wife Mollyrose, his five children, Thomas J. Loran (Fort Collins, CO), Richard Loran (Denver, CO), Patrice Cress (Fruita, CO), Ted Loran (Olympia, WA), Kathleen Goss (Longmont, CO), and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, all of whom brought immense pride and joy to his life.

A private mass will be celebrated in Tom's name on December 11th at Guardian Angels Church in Mead with a family celebration of life planned at a later date.

Tom will be deeply missed and forever loved by all who knew him.
