Bernard Loran Obituary
Bernie was born on August 21, 1957 in Massena, NY, the son of the late Bernard Loran Sr. and Verna Peters. He graduated from Salmon River Central School where he enjoyed playing hockey and earned the nickname "Blades". Bernie was an Ironworker for Local 440 for many years, later owned and operated a carpentry business called "Blades Construction". He was a member of Akwesasne Death Benefits Group.
Bernie married Holly Benedict and the marriage later ended in separation.
Bernie enjoyed fishing, hunting, working, golf, watching hockey and spending time with his grandchildren.
Bernie is survived by his son, Adam Loran of Akwesasne; two grandchildren, Camaron and Ivan Loran; chosen-daughter, Autumn Rourke and two chosen-grandchildren, Aubree and Ayden; his sister, Francine Loran-Chubb of Akwesasne; two brothers, Aaron "Ace" (Karen) Loran and Michael (April) Loran, both of Akwesasne; brother-in-laws, Matthew Jacobs and Raymond Chubb, his lifelong best friend Jai Cook, his god-children, Leslee Loran and Tesha Rourke as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
He was predeceased by three sisters, Lois Ann Benedict, Lisa Jacobs and Dawn Loran; a brother Tracy Loran in infancy.
A memorial service will be held at the Hogansburg United Methodist Church on Friday, December 12th at 11:00 am with a meal to follow at 37 West.
