Thomas Edward "Tom" Mallow

Thomas "Tom" Edward Mallow, 79, a resident of Elkins, passed from this life Wednesday, March 15, 2023, at CAMC in Charleston.
Tom was born Sunday, February 27, 1944, in Baltimore, MD, a son of the late Austin Ray Mallow and Martha Ellen Day Mallow. He married the former Edith Mae Shipway. She preceded him in death on July 22, 2021.
Left to cherish his memory are two children, Mark Edward Mallow and Edward Lee Mallow, two grandchildren, Mark Austin Mallow and Keira Sky Mallow, and three siblings, Bill and Elmer Mallow, and Mary Mitchell.
Preceding him in death besides his parents and wife were two grandchildren, James "Jimmy" Mallow and Elizabeth "Lizzy" Cawthon, and three siblings, Kenny, Sadie and Ruby.
Tom attended the schools of Randolph County. He had been employed as a laborer at Elkins Lumber Company. Following his retirement, he did lawn care for Dave Rice. Tom was a hard worker his whole life. However, Sunday was a true day of rest for him; spending time with his family and enjoying a Sunday meal.
Tom's request for cremation was honored and a memorial service is planned.
