Thomas Kevin Maloney passed away on January 18, 2025. He was born in Virginia on August 15, 1958 to Thomas and Joanna Maloney.
Thomas is survived by his precious mother, Joanna; his wife of 27 years, Sandra, his children, Christopher Jason, Mark Maloney, Jennifer Lester, and Keri and JJ Hernandez. He was a beloved grandfather to Giselle, Emilia, Samantha, Jack, and Luke. He is survived by his sisters, Kelli Maloney, and Kim Kuzet; his brother, William Maloney and husband, Hugh Villarreal. He also leaves behind a host of cherished nieces, nephews, and very close friends. Dr. Dick Ivey, Tom Spoor, and Robert Maloney were his closest friends and time and distance never changed that.
Tom's dad and his uncles had long military careers and that cultivated a deep love of country and an abiding respect for those who served it with him. Tom was an avid outdoorsman who loved nature and wildlife. Tom worked in the telecom industry for more than 40 years. He also worked in Iraq and Kuwait for the United States Department of Defense.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 31, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Smith Family Funeral Home in Hot Springs, Arkansas. Visitation with the family will begin at 1:00 PM in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be at Memorial Gardens cemetery in Hot Springs, Arkansas immediately following the service.
Pallbearers will be Mark Maloney, Dillon Fox, JJ Hernandez, William Maloney, Hugh Villareal, Steven Strange, Jack Maloney, and Edward Gomez.
Tom will be dearly missed by his family and friends. They ask that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Wounded Warriors Project, as it was one of Tom's preferred charities.
