Thomas Ray Marler, fondly known as Tom, passed away on Friday, May 16, 2025, at the age of 80. He was born on April 14, 1945, in Potosi, Missouri, to the late Gilbert H. Marler and Mabel (Carter) Marler.

Tom dedicated 24 years of his life to the United States Air Force and Army, earning respect and admiration for his service to his country. After retiring from the military, he transitioned into civilian life as a production manager for Specialty Carts Inc., where he continued to showcase his strong work ethic and leadership qualities. On February 16, 1968, Tom was united in marriage to Joeanne Silvey and they shared 53 years of love and memories together.

Tom was a man of many talents and interests. He was an accomplished woodworker, creating beautiful pieces of furniture that graced the homes of family and friends. His workshop, affectionately named "Tom Thumbs," served as a testament to his creativity and craftsmanship. Tom took great pride in his property, especially his pond, where he cherished quiet mornings watching the sunrise and observing the hummingbirds as they visited his porch. Tom was a proud American and was most patriotic. American flags stood proudly across Tom's property symbolizing his patriotism.

Family was the cornerstone of Tom’s life and loved them with all of his heart. He is survived by his daughter, Dawn DeClue and her husband, Eric; two grandsons, Dillian DeClue and Wayland DeClue and his wife, Ashli. Tom was also a proud great-grandfather to seven wonderful great-grandchildren: Thatcher, Miran, Jamey, Rosalie, Archer, Vancouver, and June; three siblings: Judy Warden, Carol Emily, and Ronald Marler and his wife, Ronda; In-laws: Marvin Mercer and his wife, Elaine, Edith Marler, Rosemary Skaggs (husband, Don), along with numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Gilbert and Mabel Marler; his wife Joeanne Marler; his sisters, Dorothy Mercer and Faith Marler; his brothers, Robert Marler and Lynn Marler; father-in-law and mother-in-law: Orville and Ann Silvey; and brothers-in-law, Jerry Warden, Ben Emily, and Frank Silvey; and sister-in-law, Faye Marler.

Tom was deeply rooted in his faith, and attended at Harvest Christian Centre of Park Hills. His love for Jesus Christ, his Savior, was evident in his life and actions. Even during periods of declining health, Tom remained devoted, faithfully watching services online and remained a faithful prayer warrior for those around him until he went to be with the Lord.
