Thomas M. Martin, 62, Marshfield, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, December 3, 2025 at Marshfield Medical Center.
Memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, December 20, 2025 at North Ridge Church, Marshfield with visitation from 2:00 pm until the time of service. Pastor Preston Tippen will officiate. Burial will take place at 11:30 am on Monday, December 22, 2025 at Hillside Cemetery, Marshfield. Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Tom was born on December 5, 1962 in Loyal to Hiram and Lenore (Hytry) Martin. He graduated from Loyal High School in 1981 and went on to attend University of Wisconsin - River Falls from 1981-1985.
He was united in marriage to Diane Brown on October 1, 1988 at Believers Church in Marshfield.
Tom founded his own real estate appraising business, Martin Appraisal Service, in 1990. He was deeply passionate about his work and often said he never worked a day in his life because he enjoyed it so much. That same passion carried into purchasing rental properties and occasionally flipping homes. Tom truly loved people, he had a rare gift of making everyone feel genuinely seen and valued in every conversation.
Family was extremely important to Tom, and he cherished traveling with them to some of his favorite places, including Israel, Italy, Greece, and many other countries. He also enjoyed outdoor Christian concerts with his family and friends. Tom loved cooking, especially making his famous authentic Italian pizza.
The defining trait of Tom's life was his faith as a follower of Jesus. The love, kindness, and care he extended to everyone flowed from the love he himself experienced through Christ, a love that changed his life completely. This faith compelled Tom not only to stop and talk with anyone and everyone, but also to respond generously to the needs of others. He was always willing to help people financially or with any type of need, often quietly and without recognition, ensuring that others were cared for and supported. He was a remarkable listener who truly wanted to know people.
Earlier this year, when asked by a family member if he would do anything differently if he could start over, Tom answered without an ounce of hesitation that he would do it all over again, exactly the same. Through his faith, his work, and his relationships, Tom leaves behind an extraordinary and enduring legacy.
He is survived by his wife Diane; son Brett Martin of Minneapolis, MN; and daughter Danielle Martin of Denver, CO.
He is further survived by his siblings, Dr. Gene (Jantra) Martin of Greenwood, WI; David (Shuleen) Martin of Pleasant Hill, CA; Rosalind (Graf) Martin of DeLand, FL; Paul (Anne) Martin of Marshfield, WI; Therese (Mike) Thompson of Reno, NV; Caroline Martin of Madison, WI; Sheila (Lawrence) Durbin of Franksville, WI; John (Terri) Martin of Marshfield, WI; Maria (Joseph) Coel of Pleasant Prairie, WI.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hiram and Lenore Martin, and brother Ron Martin.

Diane and family, I am so sorry that Tom passed away. He was a great person. I knew him when we were selling our house in Marshfield. I lost my husband in 2024 after sixty years of marriage. Carole Kirchner
