Thomas Joseph Martinez, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on September 13, 2025, in Las Vegas, Nevada, just one day before his 67th birthday.

Tom was born on September 14, 1958, in Los Angeles, California, to Jess Martinez and Carmen Villalobos. He spent his formative years in California, but in high school moved to Washington where he graduated from Pullman High School. Tom married Renee Mlechick, on June 21, 2008, in Las Vegas, Nevada.

A skilled carpenter by trade, Tom spent 25 years building a reputation for craftsmanship, contributing to significant projects including Red Rock Casino and the Vdara Hotel — both built from the ground up with his hands and heart. After the economic downturn in 2008, Tom made a career shift and became a long-distance truck driver, a role he held until his retirement in 2023.

Tom attended Word of Life Christian Center, where his faith was an important part of his life. He was a passionate fan of the Oregon Ducks and had a knack for fixing just about anything. Yet, above all his talents and interests, Tom’s greatest joy came from spending time with his family — especially his cherished grandchildren.

He will be remembered for his strong work ethic, quiet strength, and the deep love he had for those closest to him. His legacy lives on in every life he touched.
