Thomas Blaine McBath, age 77 of Two Rivers, passed away at his residence Monday morning, May 27, 2024 surrounded by family, following a short battle with pancreatic cancer.
Tom was born in Key West, Florida on April 28, 1947 to Thomas and Betty (Nelson) McBath. He attended school in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, then proudly served his country during the Vietnam War as a member of the United States Navy. Tom was a parachute rigger on air craft carriers, USS Constellation, USS Forrestal, and the USS Enterprise. He was honorably discharged from military service in 1968. He later joined the Army Reserves for a number of years.
Tom drove Semi Truck for North American Vanlines for several years before becoming employed with Hamilton Industries in Two Rivers. He worked at Hamilton's for many years until his retirement, then after retiring worked part-time at Wal-Mart. He married Frances Krecioch on June 30, 1980 in Manitowoc. His greatest joy was spending time with his wife and his family, but he truly enjoyed tinkering, going to rummage sales and making many motorized contraptions, from go-carts to motorized bikes, and best of all, His Air Boat - made from scratch (his favorite accomplishment)........ His famous saying - It's gotta be TESTED!!
Survivors include his wife, Frances; his daughters: Jerilynn (Leo) Schroeder of Two Rivers, Carla Meeks of Pleasant Prairie, WI, and Helen (Jason) Beard of Muscatine, IA; his grandchildren & great-grandchildren: Alexis Dixon and her son, Zayden; Samantha (Bryce) Iverson and soon to arrive, son Nolan; Nicolas (Miranda) Schroeder and their daughter, Emma; Anissa Brown and her children Zurie, Zahyr and September; Gage Beard, and Reece Beard. He is further survived by one sister, Lynn McBath; brothers Matt (Misa) Olsen, and Mike Olsen; one sister-in-law, Janette Oehlke; one brother-in-law, Michael Krecioch; and many nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; father & mother-in-law: Leo and Geraldine Krecioch; sisters and brothers-in-law: Michele (Les) Untiedt, Patti Jo (Steve) White, Michael Oehlke; and a great-granddaughter, Alice.
The family will greet relatives and friends from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Monday, June 3rd at the Deja & Martin Funeral Chapels, 1506 18th Street, Two Rivers. A short memorial service and time of reflection will close the visitation at 1:00 p.m. followed by military graveside honors by members of American Legion Post #165 and VFW Post #1248 of Two Rivers.
