Thomas W. McGavic, 79, of Vincennes, IN passed away February 22,2025. He was born in Vincennes, IN on September 22, 1946, to the late Willard and Olive (Fields) McGavic. Tom worked for several years with Prestilyte Battery and Hamilton Glass before both closed their door. Tom continued his career with Ewing Printing until his retirement. He proudly served his country in the United States Airforce. Tom married the love of his life, Nancy Lamb, on October 18, 1969. He was a former member and retired honor guard of the VFW, American Legion and the Forty & Eight.
In Tom's early years he enjoyed mushroom hunting and fishing. More recently he could be found mowing his yard, tending his garden, mushroom hunting, solving word search puzzles, or cooking up his famous tenderloins, coney sauce, or ham salad. He also enjoyed singing Karaoke and joking around with his family. Tom will be deeply missed.
He was preceded in death by his father Willard McGavic; mother Olive Brown; stepfather Lewis Brown; grandchild Brice Ryder; sister Janet Overbey; sisters-in-law Donna and Connie McGavic; in laws Robert and Fannie Lamb.
Tom is survived by his wife, of 55 years, Nancy McGavic; daughters Mischell (Ed) Ryder and Saundra (Matt) Carroll; grandchild Miranda Ryder; siblings Willard McGavic, Virgil (Lisa) McGavic, Mark (Daisy) Brown, Danny (Merlie) Brown, Marty Brown, Galen Brown; sister-in-law Pat (Richard) Carey.
Goodwin-Sievers is honored to be entrusted with the care of Mr. McGavic. A burial of cremated remains will be held March 6, 2025, at 11 am in Memorial Park Cemetery. Celebration of life to follow at Knights of Columbus.
