Thomas Dennis McGeever

Thomas "Dennis" McGeever, 71, passed away peacefully on January 30, 2026, in Granada Hills, California, with his children by his side. Born on April 29, 1954, Thomas lived a full and dynamic life marked by a professional dedication, a love of the outdoors, and a personality that left a lasting impression on everyone he met.

Thomas was born to Thomas and Ginger McGeever, both of whom preceded him in death. He was raised in Thousand Oaks, California, during a time when the area was still largely rural. He often reminisced about his childhood exploring open fields and farms, and he loved telling stories of summers spent watching the Dallas Cowboys train at a local college, where he would spend entire days at the practice field. These memories reflected both his adventurous spirit and his lifelong enthusiasm for sports and storytelling.

For decades, Thomas practiced as a workers' compensation attorney, a career he pursued with intensity, determination, and pride. Law was not just his profession but a defining part of who he was. He was known for his sharp mind, strong opinions, and, as many would attest, his absolute refusal to lose an argument. Health challenges forced his retirement more than ten years ago, bringing an end to a career that spanned nearly his entire adult life.

Before becoming ill, Thomas had a deep love for the outdoors. In his adult years, he took up scuba diving and became an avid hunter, an activity he continued for as long as his health allowed. Just as memorable as his hobbies was his personality. Thomas was highly social, able to strike up a conversation with just about anyone, anywhere. He loved telling stories, often animated, sometimes long-winded, and he told them with an enthusiasm that made them unmistakably his. These stories, and the way he told them, are among the many things that family and friends will remember fondly.

Thomas is survived by his wife, Fabienne, whom he married in 2004; his children, Michael and Cristine; his daughter-in-law, Kezban; his grandchildren, Elif, Kenan, and Sean; and his siblings Maureen, Kevin, Kathleen, and Brian.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, February 19, 2026, at St. Clare of Assisi Catholic Church, located at 19606 Calla Way, Canyon Country, CA 91351. A Rosary will be prayed at 11:30 a.m., followed by the Mass at 12:00 p.m.

Thomas will be remembered for his intelligence, stubborn determination, outgoing nature, and the unmistakable presence he brought into every room. He leaves behind a legacy of stories, strong opinions, and meaningful connections that will endure through those who knew and loved him.
