Thomas Lyndon McGuire

Thomas L. "Tom" McGuire, 91, Rogersville, passed away Sunday, March 8, 2026, at his home.

He was born July 9, 1934 in Prague, Oklahoma, the son of the late James C. and Bertie I. (Nash) McGuire. He was united in marriage August 14, 1971 Elizabeth M. Lynch. She preceded him in death in 1995. On March 12, 2003 he married Jean Holifield. She preceded him in death in 2023. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, two brothers, and three grandchildren.

Tom was a U.S. Air Force veteran, retiring as a Seabee from U.S. Navy in 1978. He was a member of the Fleet Reserve and V.F.W. He also enjoyed golf, MG Motor Cars. His greatest joy was being with his family, especially his grandkids. He will be greatly missed.

He is survived by two daughters, Chris McGuire-Collins and her husband Allen, and Heather Williams and her husband Lloyd; two sons, John Hohl and his wife Tracey, and Jeff Hohl; four grandchildren, Moriah Scholz and her husband Aaron, Jacob Proebstel and his wife Melanie, Keira Torgerson and her husband Bryan, and Lyndon Tutor; a sister, Laurie Lowe, ten great-grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends.

A memorial graveside service, with full military honors, will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 18, 2026 at Panther Valley Cemetery. A gathering of family and friends will be follow from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. at the home of Tom and Jean McGuire.
