Julia Leanne Atkinson, 69, Rogersville, passed away Friday, March 6, 2026, in her home following a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born January 21, 1957 in Springfield, Missouri, the daughter of Ronald and Janice (Lea) Frazier. She was united in marriage on November 1, 1974 to Darrell J. Atkinson. He preceded her in death in 2016. She was also preceded in death by a son, Coleman Seth Atkinson, a great-granddaughter, Zelda Atkinson, her mother, Janice Frazier, and an infant sister, Jennifer Frazier.

Julia was a 1975 graduate of Logan-Rogersville High School. She was a dairy farmer and a member of Antioch Church of Christ. She was also a member of Pleasant Panthers Extension Club, served on the Logan-Rogersville Fair Board for many years, and was active in school programs and 4-H. She enjoyed listening to music, playing the piano, painting rocks, sewing, and being a mom and grandma to her family, especially her grandkids. She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends.

She is survived by her husband, Kevin Nichols; two sons, Greg Atkinson and wife Amber; and Jason Atkinson and wife Kristy; two daughters, Stephanie, and Janean Atkinson and Hailey Atkinson; a grandson, Nick Atkinson and wife Gina, six granddaughters, Alexandra Crain and husband Brandon; Caitlin Taggart and husband Kaleb; Leigh Atkinson, Gracie Atkinson, Taylor McGuigan and husband Kyler; and McKenzie Atkinson; eight great-grandchildren, Elijah, Bentley, Leo, Xavier, Dutton, Paisley, Riley, and Emery; a sister, Ronda Marsteller and husband A.L.; several nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 11, 2026 at J.D. Lee and Sons Funeral Home, Rogersville. Burial will follow in Panther Valley Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 5 – 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 10, 2026 in the funeral home.
