Thomas Kevin McKelley, age 75, of Canton, Ohio, passed away peacefully on November 3rd after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on August 14, 1950, in Canton, he lived a life marked by honor, service, and devotion to family and country.
Thomas graduated from Central Catholic High School and enjoyed attending high school football games as an adult. He proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, earning the respect of his fellow servicemen and women and the gratitude of a nation.
After returning home, Thomas dedicated his time to family. He loved playing cards and attending cookouts, creating cherished memories with those closest to him. Known for his kindness, sense of humor, and generosity, he touched countless lives.
Thomas is survived by his daughter, Sara McCartney (Jeremy), and stepdaughters Emily Cush and Stefanie Reynolds; his sister Fran Bush (Tom); his former wife Karen McKelley; grandchildren Addyson, Joelle, Justin, and Brandon; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Mary Ann McKelley; brothers Daniel, Kevin, Mark, and Jack; sister-in-law Glenda; son-in-law Matt Cush and nephew Joshua.
Following Thomas's wishes, there will be no formal funeral or wake. He was cremated, and his remains will be laid to rest with military honors at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, ensuring his service and sacrifice are remembered.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Aultman Hospice and Palliative Care.
